Ornamental grass is a gorgeous way to add dimension to your yard, here are a few neat ones to consider for when we start designing your yard.
Feather Reedgrass
This is an extremely popular ornamental grass. This plant has dark green leaves and narrow, tan plumes in the early summer. It generally grows upright, giving an architectural element to landscapes even in the winter. There are even tiny flowers in the early summer.
Ravennagrass
This is also called pampas grass. It is a large and fast-growing perennial that will draw your attention when it's in flower because of it's height. It can add a nice dramatic flair to your Lake of the Ozarks landscape. It can also hide an unsightly view.
Northern Sea Oats
This is a fast spreading species and is loved for its seed heads. The way they hang off the stems makes them look like bronze colored wind chimes. They can also be used fresh or dried in arrangements.
Cordgrass
It's a spreading prairie that thrives in damp soils. It's a great choice around water.
Fountaingrass
A mounding plant with a pretty shape. It's name refers to the graceful spray of late-summer plumes of fuzzy flowers. Plumes can be white, pink or red, and the colors continue into Fall, which brings a beautiful and informal look to your landscape. This grass can self seed, so be sure to call your favorite landscape maintenance team to come in and make sure this won't take over in an invasive way.
Blue Fescue
This variety of ornamental grass is the smallest of the grasses. It's perfect for many different areas in your landscaping. It can go at the base of shrubs, or in rows, or really anywhere! It looks best in early summer when it's a beautiful bluish color.
