3 Key Landscaping Tips to Improve Your Home

Landscaping can be a work of art if done properly. If you are looking to sell your home in 2018, this blog is for you. There are certain ways to improve the value of your home by improving your landscaping. The best landscaping company at the Lake of the Ozarks is here to give you a few tips on how to improve the value of your home through landscaping.

3 Key Landscaping Tips to Improve Your Home

Landscaping Tip # 1
Make your landscape pop with season colors.
It can be pleasing to your buyer's eye to see some instant color when they come to view your home in the interest of possibly buying it.

Landscaping Tip # 2
Have your oddly shaped bushes and trees professionally shaped.
Oddly shaped bushes and trees can push potential buyers away. Have them trimmed to look more professional. An expert landscaping company in Lake Ozark can help you with that.

Landscaping Tip # 3
Define your lawn edges.
Make sure your lawn is neatly mowed or trimmed. Buyers can want to see a lawn that appears to be low maintenance. If your lawn needs a fresh look and you are not sure how to go about instilling one yourself, call a professional.

Whether you are looking to sell your home or retire in it, we can help you design your very own home oasis through our beautiful landscape designs. Rick Harris, our designer, has 46 years of experience within the field of Horticulture, Retail Garden Center Management, and Landscape Design. That's 46 years of learning and knowing what and how large plants will become.

All of this experience assists Rick in developing hand drawn landscapes in full color ... these are the ultimate landscape designs. While he has kept up with the times, learning landscape design on computers and visual software, he still believes that the time tested custom hand drawn designs are the best. His hand drawn designs show a personality and feel that the computerized designs do not.

The Benefits of Hiring a Professional Leaf Removal Company at the Lake of the Ozarks

Are you getting sick of raking those leaves from your yard constantly? It can be quite strenuous work and very time consuming. The holiday season is here and you could use all the time you can get preparing for it. Save your time and hire a professional leaf removal company at the Lake of the Ozarks to take that stress away from your life. Paradise Landscape Irrigation & Pool Maintenance is here to give you a few benefits of hiring a professional leaf removal company rather than trying to remove your leaves yourself.

The Benefits of Hiring a Professional Leaf Removal Company at the Lake of the Ozarks

Benefit # 1
Hiring a professional leaf removal company can be a real time saver!

Trying to rake all of those leaves yourself can take hours. Who has time for that? Your time can be better spent on other things, like finding the perfect Christmas presents for your loved ones or shopping for the best ingredients for the your delicious holiday meal you plan to make for your family and friends.

Benefit # 2
The professionals can save you from possibly injuring yourself when raking your own leaves.

Raking leaves for hours can be very strenuous and you can even injure yourself. Save yourself the back pain and leave the leaf removal to the professionals. That's what they are there for.

Benefit # 3
The professionals can help when trying to remove leaves from those tough to reach places.

Some people try to avoid the possible problems that can arise from using a rake and they invest in an expensive leaf vacuum. The problem is that these leaf vacuums can easily destroy your flower beds and gardens. A professional can help prevent problems such as these.

Benefit # 4
Hiring a professional can be cheaper than purchasing all of the equipment it takes to remove your leaves yourself.

Leaf removal equipment, such as leaf blowers or leaf vacuums can be very costly. It may be more cost efficient, just to hire a professional that has years of experience and who knows how to properly use the leaf removal equipment.

Save Yourself Some Time and Hire a Professional You Can Trust to Remove Your Leaves

Get your yard holiday ready and hire Paradise Landscape Irrigation & Pool Maintenance to remove your leaves. 4 Improvements to Make to Your Landscaping this Fall

We've been very fortunate to have such warm weather this past weekend. The unseasonably warmer temperatures have many of us spending some much needed time outdoors before the inevitable cold hits. While we can still enjoy this warmer weather, it's a great time to think about some Lake of the Ozarks landscaping improvements you can take care of around your house. Check out some ideas we've come up with:

1. Gather Around a Nice Cozy Bonfire
An outdoor fire pit can help keep you and your guests warm on chilly nights. Fire features are great accessories for entertaining people of all ages. You can cook some s'mores around them. They're also great for creating a mood and ambiance. While they're being used for warmth and ambiance in the fall and winter, they can also serve as the perfect place for friends and family to gather in the summer months, too!

2. Light the Way with Ambient Landscape Lighting
LED Lighting around your landscape and water features is not only beautiful, but it's an important safety feature of your home, as well. At Paradise Landscaping, we are a Preferred Vendor of Kichler LED Lighting. From the latest intelligent LED options to traditional incandescent choices, Paradise Landscaping offers Kichler's complete landscape collection and it delivers the right type of landscape lighting at the Lake of the Ozarks.

3. Winterize Your Pool Before First Snow
If you haven't done so already, you're behind schedule. Hopefully you've been keeping up with leaf removal and chemical balancing. But in case you haven't, letting us get your pool back in shape for closing is a great way to ensure an easier pool opening next spring. Winterizing your pool saves you time and money when the warmer months come back around. By chemical treating the water, you'll have prevented algae buildup during the fall and spring, making the spring cleaning process quicker and easier. You'll also have avoided any damage the equipment or the pool itself.

4. Prep Your Lawn for a Lush Spring Bloom
Some plants do best when planted in the fall. If you want to add new shrubs or spring bulbs like hyacinth, now is the time to get them in the ground. Fall annuals like pansies are also a great addition to keep some color in your yard as other plants go to sleep. Trim any dead branches and cut back overgrown trees and bushes. If you have blooming perennials like clematis or roses, now is the time to prune them and train the branches.

It's not too late to take care of any of these tasks before winter hits! Don't forget to hire a landscaping company at the Lake of the Ozarks to ensure the perfect design for your lawn. Paradise stands by the motto, “Maintaining your Paradise is our Business.” We help you create your dream oasis at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. We specialize in everything from retaining walls, water features, trees and shrubs, sod, among other features, and oversee the design and full maintenance. So for all of your lawn and landscaping needs, count on the best landscaping company at the Lake of the Ozarks to make your landscaping dreams a reality!

Tips to Easily Update Your Entryway

When you've walked through the same front door for weeks, months or years, sometimes it needs an update. Changing the look of your door can add an entirely new look to your home, without requiring a large investment. From changing the color of the door to updating the landscape around your door, here are a few tips that can make the front of your home look like new!

Put Out New Decor or Greenery
Adding or updating the greenery around your door can instantly update the appearance. You can add standing topiary's to either side of your door, or you can also add flower baskets or small bushes. You can update the wreath on your door with something seasonal, or with something new that catches your eye. If you want a cost effective way to change the look of your door, you can update the mat! This will add a splash of color and style while not requiring a budget.

Add a Splash of NEW Color
Updating the color of your door can improve the overall style of your home. Even if you repaint your door the same color, by adding a fresh coat you are giving your door new life. If you decide to try something new and choose a brand new color, you'll have many different colors to pick from! Some popular colors to consider when you repaint your door are red, green, black, blue or brown.

Accessorize with Numbers, a Mailbox, and Lights
Your door can always use a little bit of accessorizing! Adding a house number to your door can be a fun update, with many styles, colors, and materials that you can choose from. If you live in town, where a mailbox on your door is necessary, you can update the style, or even repaint it to add some excitement. You can also consider adding new lighting to your front door. This can seem like an extravagant change, but it will be one you'll appreciate since it's getting dark earlier now. If you want to add lighting to your landscape, give us a call! We are experienced in all forms of landscape design at the Lake of the Ozarks, and we have some beautiful lights you can choose from for your yard.

Spruce it up with New Trim
Adding trim to your front door can instantly update the look. From fancy ornate molding to just a simple trim, you can take your door from "blah" to "ahh!". If you already have trim on your door and have no intention of updating it, you could consider updating the color of the trim.

Updating Your Landscape Instantly Improves your Front Door!
You can add new details to your front door, but nothing will make your house look new like an updated landscape! We can create the perfect vacation getaway in your yard, and customize it just the way you want. Our designs can create a custom landscape at the Lake of the Ozarks and make your yard stand out! Importance of Leaf Removal for Your Lawn's Optimal Health

Do you really need to remove all those leaves from your lawn? The simple answer is yes. Even though the leaves look nostalgic, and keep the look of Fall alive - your yard depends on you. There are plenty of excuses for why to not rake your leaves, perhaps you want to wait until they ALL fall from the trees, or maybe it just keeps raining, or you lost your rake, but all the same, the leaves still need to be raked. Here are a few reasons you need to rake your yard, and how we can help make it easier on you!

Why Should I Remove the Leaves?

Just so you know, the reason you rake the leaves isn't because your neighbors do it - it's because it helps your yard. Did you know that your yard needs to breathe? Your landscape needs that breath of fresh air to keep it from suffocating under a layer of thick and sometimes soaking leaves. Not to mention that when the snow starts to fall, if your leaves are still on the ground you can accumulate a "snow mold". With leaves still being on the ground, you've given the environment everything it needs (moisture, food, sunshine) to create a variety of fungus that will not be good in the future.

How Should I Remove the Leaves?

One way to get this Fall foliage off of your yard is through the backbreaking task of raking. Another option is to get a leaf blower and blow them all into a pile. Both options leave you with the responsibility of disposing of the leaves appropriately. You can make this a family event, where everyone grabs their rakes and gets to work, or you can call the team who can take care of it for you!

Leaf Removal at the Lake of the Ozarks

Our team can help you not only with leaf removal and collection, but also with the disposal of those leaves. We are your one stop shop for all of your landscaping needs at the Lake of the Ozarks, and we are proud to help you with this very important aspect. Don't feel pressured to find the right tools that you'll only use a few weeks of the year, and then spend hours raking your leaves. We have everything ready, and the knowledge of what to do with those leaves afterwords.

Paradise Landscaping at the Lake of the Ozarks

When you need a professional team who can come to your home and take care of your yard in the best way possible, you want to call a team you can trust. Prepping Your Landscape for Frost

It's that time of year again. The temperatures are dropping, and we're waking up to find our car windows frosted over. What does that mean for your lawn? When you've invested time and money into creating a Paradise in your own yard, the last thing you want to happen is for the frost to damage it. Here are a few things you can do to protect your plants from frost to keep them lasting longer.

Mulching Plants

Mulch helps to trap the moisture around the plant, as well as protecting against cold weather. Some prefer mulching over cover their plants, and both are fine. Popular mulching materials are straw, pine needles, bark and loosely piled leaves.

Watering Plants

Another way to protect your plants from the colder weather is by watering them a day or two before the frost is expected. Wet soils holds more heat than dry soil. Be sure not not saturate the plants while the temps are too low, it will result in frost heave, and can injure the plants.

Covering Plants

The most popular way to guard against frost is by covering your plants. Most anything will work, such as old blankets, sheets, and even burlap sacks. Drape the plants loosely and secure with stakes, rocks or bricks. Lighter materials can just be draped over the plant, though heavier covers may need propped up with a stake. Make sure to remove the cover when the sun comes out though, to keep your plants from suffocating.

Obviously as winter is looming in the distance, you can't protect your plants forever, but you can help extend their life by protecting them on the especially cold nights. Remember that potted plants should be brought inside when the weather starts to get cold. Another thing to keep in mind is that the Fall is a prime time to create your perfect landscaping at the Lake of the Ozarks. Give the best landscapers at the Lake of the Ozarks a call at 573-964-6515, we can help you create the paradise of your dreams, and provide you with a beautiful yard.

3 Types of Landscapes that May be Scaring Away Potential Homebuyers

When you're selling your home, there are many details to think about. Your yard may not be at the forefront of your mind, but it's the first thing potential buyers see when they pull up to your home, and that's what gives them their first impression. So why not leave them with something really great to remember. If you're just not seeming to get any showings on your home, it may be time to take an unbiased look at the exterior of your home to see if there's something buyers are seeing that you're not. Just to give you an idea of what buyers don't want to see, here are three landscapes that could be scaring them away.

1. Unkempt Landscapes
The landscape surrounding your home will always be the first impression your potential buyers will see. You want a landscape that will be enchanting, and thus draw them in to see the rest of the house. If the grass hasn't been cut, the shrubs aren't trimmed, and the leaves haven't been raked, your landscape will not be inviting. Also, if your landscape is unkempt, your home will immediately look like a "fixer-upper". Some people are looking for that, but the majority aren't looking for a home that will need a lot of work.

2. High Maintenance Landscapes
As crazy as it sounds, if your landscape has been detailed, and landscaped extravagantly that can be a turn off. There's nothing prettier than a beautiful landscape, but many home buyers aren't looking for a place that will require hours of upkeep. Beautiful flower beds, and easily manicured lawns are enough to create a beautiful curb appeal without looking high maintenance. Additionally, if someone is new to the area, and they want a professional landscaper at the Lake of the Ozarks who can keep it looking beautiful, send them to our website, we'd love to assist!

3. Wooded Landscapes
This can go both ways. Sometimes buyers like to see lots of trees in the yard, as it provides some level of coverage. On the flip side, you won't want trees within 20 feet of the home to account for growth, and the safety of your roof. The landscape should enhance your home, and you won't want large plants concealing your home. Though, a general rule is that trees ARE good for the value of your home, especially when planted between the sidewalk and street. If you have any doubts about what trees to put in your yard, hire the best landscapers at the Lake of the Ozarks - we can help.

Take Your Landscape to the Next Level
If the idea of trying to improve your home through the landscape intimidates you, let us help! We have over five years of experience creating the best landscape designs at the Lake of the Ozarks. We work closely with YOU to make your yard a place that you can use, relax, and enjoy. From the beginning to the end we are here to make sure your yard is a paradise. Give us a call and let us join you on the journey to a better yard!

15 Lawn Maintenance Items to Address Before Winter

Now is the perfect time to begin preparing your lawn for winter. Not only will the right preparation save you time and energy when spring rolls around, but it's also the best time to ensure a lush healthy landscaping as air temperatures are dropping, but the soil is still quite warm – perfect for root development. Take a look at our checklist of lawn maintenance items to be addressed before winter.

1. Clean out debris.
Fallen leaves and weeds are the perfect place for pests to settle in for the winter. Clear out flower beds to keep the critters at bay. Pay special attention to rose beds, as their foliage can foster disease over the winter.

2. Give it one last mow.
Set your mower to a low setting and give the lawn a close buzz before winter sets in. This helps the soil dry out more quickly in the spring, which leads to a lusher lawn.

3. Aerate.
Break up soil to keep water from pooling and guarantee that nutrients will reach the roots over the winter. A garden fork will do the job for small yards, but larger yards may require a walk-behind aerator, which should be available to rent for a reasonable price.

4. Feed the lawn.
Send your yard into winter with the nutrients it needs to survive the long, cold sleep. Add a fall lawn fertilizer with high phosphorous content to encourage root growth and enjoy a lush, green lawn come spring.

5. Rake and mulch.
Don’t let fallen leaves get the best of you; if left unattended they can suffocate the grass. Rake them up, shred them, and use them as mulch for young trees, shrubs, and flower beds. You might even be able to skip the raking part if you use a lawn mower to mulch the leaves in your yard.

6. Till the vegetable garden.
After the final harvest, pull out old vegetable plants, remove debris, and completely till the whole plot. If you compost, now is the time to add a layer of compost to help nurture your soil for planting next spring.

7. Trim Rogue Branches.
Trim up any large or out-of-place tree branches that may cause trouble during the winter. You don’t want any branches breaking and falling during the snowfall to come.

8. Plant bulbs, shrubs, and fall annuals.
Some plants do best when planted in the fall. If you want to add new shrubs or spring bulbs like hyacinth, now is the time to get them in the ground. Fall annuals like pansies are also a great addition to keep some color in your yard as other plants go to sleep.

9. Prune trees and shrubs.
Trim any dead branches and cut back overgrown trees and bushes. If you have blooming perennials like clematis or roses, now is the time to prune them and train the branches.

10. Divide and cut back perennials.
If your perennials really took off this year, go ahead and spread the love. Divide plants and add them to other beds where they will also do well. This saves money and time in the spring. Fall-blooming perennials like chrysanthemums shouldn’t be divided now — wait and divide them in the spring.

11. Protect cold-sensitive plants.
Keep sensitive perennials, shrubs, and roses in top shape through the cold days of winter. Add mulch to the base and wrap plants in cloth barriers to prevent damage from freezing. Depending on the hardiness of the plant and your climate, you can use a single sheet or blanket or wrap them in a combination of cloth and plastic.

12. Clean out the gutters.
Not all fall cleanup is in the yard. This is the perfect time to clear leaves and other debris from rain gutters. Check for proper drainage, clear out any blockages with a small garden trowel, and rinse with a hose.

13. Protect the deck.
Prevent the growth of mold and mildew by giving the deck a good power wash. If you don’t have a pressure washer, you can rent one from a garden store. Once the deck is clean and dry, add a weatherproofing stain to protect the wood from moisture damage over the winter.

14. Dry everything out.
Drain all water from hoses, fountains, and drip irrigation systems, and store them in a dry place. Water left standing over the winter may damage your equipment.

15. Clean tools and store them.
Don’t throw your gardening tools in the shed and forget about them until spring. Take time to give them a good cleaning and add a light coat of oil to prevent rust during the cold season.

Once these landscaping maintenance items have been addressed, your lawn will be ready to take on the winter months and will be at its peak health to promote a green and lush spring bloom. Now, we know that this is a pretty lengthy checklist, and there are better things you'd rather be doing with your time this fall. So, rather than doing it yourself, hire the best landscaping company at the Lake of the Ozarks to prep your landscaping for winter. We specialize in everything from retaining walls, water features, trees and shrubs, sod, among other features, and oversee the design and full maintenance. For your landscape maintenance needs give us a call at 573-964-6515!

4 Fall Themed Landscaping Design Trends

Just as you do in your home, there's always that desire to marry a decor theme to the season outside the home as well. A great way to do this is to incorporate the season and holidays into your landscaping design. So, to help you decide on some great fall themed landscaping ideas, Paradise Landscaping is sharing with you 4 landscaping design trends to include in your landscaping this fall season!

1. Fire Features
Fire features, such as outdoor fire pits and fire tables (designed so that the flames burst through the center), are the hottest landscape trend of the fall, according to the National Association of Landscape Professionals. This sizzling design trend can also help keep homeowners and their guests warm on chilly nights. Fire features are great accessories for entertaining people of all ages. You can cook some s'mores around them. They're also great for creating a mood and ambience.

2. Classic Fall Plants
Garden mums carry the season with classic autumn hues of orange, gold, russet and bronze. Brilliant fall foliage and fuzzy red berry clusters that linger through winter make sumacs a go-to shrub for fall and winter color. Pansies are versatile in the garden and looks equally enchanting in containers or planting beds. Pansies can even bounce back from light frosts, making them perfect contenders for adding cool-season color.

3. Outdoor Lighting
Since safety is always a concern, and the days are getting shorter, homeowners are installing LED lighting along their walkways to make sure they don't trip and fall in the dark. LED Lighting arounds your landscape and water features is not only an important safety feature, but it helps to create beautiful ambiance as well. Fall Improvements That Will Transform Your Pool

Whether you're upgrading your personal pool, or managing a community pool that needs some improvements or upgrades, we can help. And fall is the best time to get started on these types of projects! You've likely either already winterized the pool for the season, or it's on the books to be done. So why not go ahead and have the best landscape design company at the Lake of the Ozarks handle the job of making some upgrades and improvements while the time is right? Check out some of the possible improvements that'll transform the look of your pool!

Upgrading the Patio Around Your Pool
This is the time to upgrade and update the area around your pool. Then, when summer swim season rolls around, you will have brand new poolside space to enjoy with family and friends. If your patio area feels a bit bland, and not quite like the oasis you'd like it to be, there's several things that can be done to spruce up the space and make it into a luxurious paradise getaway. By having a professional landscaping design company create a beautifully planned out design for your outdoor living area, you'll find that you miss spending days poolside entertaining guests and basking in the sun. Summer can't get here soon enough!

Installing a Tanning Ledge
Add a tanning ledge to extend your recreation and relaxation options! There's a multitude of ways you can do this depending on your desired use. Some people prefer to have what are called thermal ledges, which are only about 4-5 inches deep so that the water temperature is warmer from the sun. Most people, however, prefer them to be around 12-16 inches deep for lounging and for a safe place for children to play. Tanning ledges are perfect for lounge chairs, kids’ play area, or shallow water sunbathing. Plus, a tanning ledge adds an element of running water and turns the entire pool into a water feature.

Adding in New Steps
There are several step types that can be added to an existing pool; depending on the pools’ structure and configuration. Sure you could go with a "drop in" step, but they can cause problems. This step sits on top of the pool floor, has a weighted bottom to hold it down, has some movement when stepping on it, and over time causes liner abrasion which damages the liner. The best choice for adding new steps to an existing pool is to have steps installed that are connected to the pool wall. This process is more costly, but they are more stable, longer lasting, and adds more value. This is also a good time to think about whether your pool is handicapped accessible. Managing a community pool? Perhaps it's not just a set of steps that you need - maybe your pool could benefit from a redesign that would accommodate ALL of your guests!

So before you dismiss your pool for the year, take a good hard look around. Think about some of the upgrades that your pool and outdoor entertainment area could use, because there's no better time than now to get started! 3 Reasons to Winterize Your Pool

With summer behind us and fall here to stay for a while, it's time to start preparing your pool for those months when you won’t be using it. Getting your pool ready for the winter is more complicated than simply tossing a pool cover over it. Properly closing a pool requires time, equipment, and technical expertise that many pool owners simply don’t have. If you're questioning the importance of having a professional pool maintenance company at the Lake of the Ozarks winterize your pool, read on to see why this process is so important.

1. Keeps it Clean
Algae becomes dormant at low temperatures, and the rate of photosynthesis and growth is very low once temperatures drop into the low 60’s. For this reason, it's recommended to wait until your pool water temperature is below 65° before closing the pool. The chemicals used for winterization prevent algae from growing in your pool during the fall and spring. If left untreated, algae can multiply and cause discoloration and unpleasant odors. Properly winterizing your pool allows you the chance to deep clean your pool, removing leaves and bugs.

2. Avoids Freezing
One of the reasons why winterization is so important is to protect against the damage of freezing water. Ice can cause your pool's pumps, pipes and filters to freeze. A big part of winterizing your pool is draining and drying out equipment such as pumps, heaters, and filters. Blowing and plugging pool pipes flush out excess water to avoid freezing. It is also recommended that you lower the water level of your pool to below the skimmer mouth to allow for expansion, but draining your pool completely isn't recommended.

3. Makes Opening Easier
Getting your pool back in shape for closing is a great way to ensure an easier pool opening, while protecting your smooth, soft and stain-free pool surfaces. Winterizing your pool saves you time and money when the warmer months come back around. By chemical treating the water, you'll have prevented algae buildup during the fall and spring, making the spring cleaning process quicker and easier. You'll also have avoided any damage the equipment or the pool itself.

There are many reasons to opt for winterizing your pool rather than keeping it open all year long, and so many things to consider when winterizing your pool to ensure minimal damage from the cold temperatures. Your pool is one of your favorite investments and we don't want to see it gone to waste or damaged because of a mistake in the winterizing process. That's why we highly recommend hiring a professional pool maintenance company at the Lake of the Ozarks to handle your pool winterization this fall. For more information about winterizations, our lawn care services, or any other services that we offer, visit our website or give us a call today at 573-964-6515. Different Types of Retaining Walls

When you're creating a beautiful landscape design at the Lake of the Ozarks, one of the biggest things you shouldn't forget is your retaining walls. This feature of a landscape doesn't sit at the front of your mind, and can even go unnoticed - but their value is extremely important. When you live in the Ozarks, the value of a retaining wall is even more important with the sloping terrain and clay soil that we have.

Whether you know all about retaining walls - or you haven't ever noticed them, we have a few interesting things to share with you about this important landscape fixture.

What is a Retaining Wall?

A retaining wall is a structure that is used to hold soil behind it. A retaining wall can be made out of many different types of materials such as concrete blocks, poured concrete, treated timbers, rocks or boulders. There can be variances in the types of wall, how easy they are to install, and their lifespan - but the purpose is the same: retain soil.

Types of Retaining Walls

Gravity Walls - this type is perfect for small retaining walls, since they're not usually built to exceed four foot tall. It will rely on it's weight to resist the pressure of the force behind it.

Cantilever Retaining Walls - these are single-layered walls that are built in uniform thickness with its base. They're capable of holding significant amount of earth as well as supporting tall slopes.

Sheet Pile Retaining Walls - aka: piling retaining walls. This is a type of wall that is usually used on soft soils where there is not enough space for wide barriers. Generally, 2/3 of the material is hammered below the soil depending on the landscape.

Anchored Retaining Walls - these are similar to the piling retaining walls because it utilizes cables for extra strength.

Counterfort Retaining Walls - this type of retaining wall is similar to cantilever walls, but it's built with thin vertical concrete webs (counterfort) which are at regular intervals on the rear side of the wall. They connect the wall's top and base together which lessens the shear force and bending moments cause by the earth.

Do I Need a Retaining Wall?

This is something we can help you decide. Before starting your custom landscape design at the Lake of the Ozarks, we will do a walk through in your yard. During the walk through we'll find out what you would like to see happen with the design of your yard, and what will be possible in the design. At this point, we'll be able to tell you if a retaining wall is necessary. A few ways you'll know if you need one is if you need to control downhill erosion. You may also want one if your foundation is threatened by a sliding hill, or if your foundation is beginning to wash away. Sometimes they aren't just functional, but beautiful, so a retaining wall can be used to create flowerbeds.

Creating a Custom Backyard Paradise

Whether you need a retaining wall or not, one thing you may want to consider is having your yard professionally landscaped. This is the perfect time of year to get your flowers, bushes and bulbs updated for the spring season. It's also the perfect time of year to start on these construction projects in your yard. The weather is nicer and the ground is easy to work with. If you are planning on any types of landscaping in your yard, call the team you can trust to get the job done right. We'll help you create your dream oasis at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks.
